After Mrs. Spencer's death in April 1990, it seemed as though the creativity of the Chrismon patterns had ended.

However, as a supplier for the books, Barbara Rufty became the source of shared ideas from creative individuals who had taken to heart the words of Mrs. Spencer. Barbara Rufty carries on the tradition of Rufty's Chrismon Shop creating and sharing new Christian Symbols patterns and advising our customers.

Mrs. Rufty, their daughter Melonie Beaver and many others have created and shared designs and ideas for the Christian Symbols. To share these designs with even more people, Mrs. Rufty has developed kits containing instructions and all necessary components needed to make the new designs Christian Symbols.

These kits help those who are new to Chrismon making become familiar with the necessary techniques and materials. Since the Chrismon books have not been revised in many years, these kits are a helpful stepping stone towards understanding the original books.

Barbara and Melonie are including new patterns each year and welcomes your ideas for new designs.

Due to the large demand for kits in 2003, it became necessary for us to reduce the amount of packaging being done by Mrs. Rufty. This prompted the development of our New Kits, which contain 10 Patterns in a Booklet and the necessary supplies to complete either small or large ornaments. This eliminated the counting of beads and gives the customer more for their dollar. Twenty of the best patterns were selected and incorporated into two kits, Christian Designs for Beginners and Christian Designs for Intermediates.

The Beaded Christian Designs for Children Kit (1-6th Grade) was developed in May 2004. It contains 12 patterns in 2 levels (6 patterns in each level) with supplies for creating 6 ornaments of each design (72 ornaments total). This booklet will complete a 7’ tree. This creates an excellent Bible Study, giving a greater meaning to the Christmas Season.

The Book of Beaded Crosses was developed because of the demand for new patterns of a favorite symbol, the cross. This booklet contains 12 patterns and all necessary supplies. The patterns are one size, which range from 6” to 12”. Some single cross kits will be available in an Extra Large size that can be used in an 18” wreath or grouped as a set on one large wreath.

New as of Sept. 2005 Christian Designs for Intermediates 2 is a continuation of the first Intermediate Book. This kit contains 10 patterns in a booklet and the necessary supplies to complete either small or large ornaments.

Also available as of Sept. 2005 are two lifesize crown kits, the Crown of Light and Crown of the Cross. Both consist of the largest beads available and are designed to top your larger Church trees. These crowns are at the intermediate level but require more time and patience to complete.
